Mr. Uthayakumar, Malaysian Indian Always With You....

I wish Mr. Uthaya happy 47th birthday. God bless him, we Malaysian Indian always pray for him. His contribution towards Indian community in Malaysia undeniable, the whole world knows that Malaysian Indian under marginalisation since HINDRAF mass rally on 25 November 2007. He is celebrating birthday in a heartbreaking condition, lets we all not forget his sacrifices for us.

Knowing that he would be arrested under ISA, thus he left two parting videos for his supporters. In the video Uthaya thanked HINDRAF supporters for their support and reminded them to be peaceful and not to resort to violence. He was arrested under Internal Security Act (ISA) in December 13, 2007, along with M. Manoharan, V. S. Ganapathy Rao, K. Kengadhadran and T. Vasantha Kumar.

Mr. Uthaya was brought up in Kelantan, where 99 percent of the population is Malay. He also wore a pin of the Malaysian flag on his blazer during his student times, despite the fact that his friends poked fun at him. Another interesting story about him, he revealed that he had a Malay girlfriend for five years, but because he had to convert to Islam to marry her, it forced him to go his separate way.

When Mr. Utaya started his legal firm, he placed a Malaysian flag on his working desk. That show how patriotic he was. He also stated that he had no problems with the Malay people as much as he had problems with the UMNO led government. He took off the flag that he put on nhis working desk after the Kampung Medan incident because;

“I believe that as much as I want to be Malaysian, the Malay majority Muslim do not want me as a Malaysian, they do not recognize me as a Malaysian, and they do not accept me as a Malaysian”

We are clear on why Mr.Uthayakumar has lead Malaysian Indian to fight for rights with the name of HINDRAF, the main reason should be when the government not respecting and continuously neglecting the equal rights and opportunity of the minority. May God protect he and all ISA detainees from evil and harm! Struggles continue......

Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak, The Seventh President of UMNO

Najib will turn into the seventh president of Umno after Datuk Onn Jaafar, Tunku Abdul Rahman, Tun Abdul Razak Hussein, Tun Hussein Onn, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. The success may lead him to be the next Prime Minister of Malaysia, according to transition plan that agreed by PM.

To win the post unopposed, a nominee required 134 nominations. Datuk Seri Najib Razak voted as the Umno presidency uncontested yesterday after he clinched 140^th nomination. This automatically denied Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah to challenge Najib Razak in the UMNO presidential contest.

Most of the UMNO members and Malaysian have very high expectations on Najib’s leadership but there are a lot of scandals haunting him, from Altantuya murder case to the political conspiracies against Anwar Ibrahim. Will he able to stop the conspiracies against him to be a good leader in future? The former Pahang Chief Minister also released statement on Malaysia as an Islamic state. In keeping in line with UMNO's strategy of politicizing racial and religious issues, Najib declared on August 2007 that Malaysia has never been secular because being secular by Western definition means separation of the Islamic principles of in the way we govern the country.

Najib had a close aide, Abdul Razak Baginda, who was involved in a high-profile murder case of a Mongolian woman, Altantuya Shaaribuu. In a statutory declaration in his sedition trial in June 2008, Raja Petra accused Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor (his wife) of being one of three individuals who was present at the crime scene when Altantuya Shaariibuu was murdered on Oct 19, 2006, adding Najib's wife, Rosmah Mansor, and Acting Colonel Aziz Buyong and his wife, Norhayati, Rosmah's aide-de-camp, were present at the scene of the murder; Raja further wrote Aziz Buyong was the individual who placed C4 plastic explosive on Altantuya's body and blew it up.

Najib also claimed to be involved in conspiracies against Anwar. Najib denied any personal involvement in the alleged political conspiracy against former deputy premier Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, including a police report alleging Anwar committed sodomy against his former aide. He said the picture of his aide Khairil Anas Yusof with the alleged sodomy victim Saiful Bukhari Azlan at his office had been taken three months ago when the latter, in his capacity as a student leader, came to his office to seek a scholarship.

Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak will be announced as the next UMNO President when the UMNO General Assembly meets in March 2009. Only time will tell us the answers on how he going to lead the party and government. Well, I take this opportunity to congratulate him for the win.

Samy Vellu, You Better Leave Now!

After being the MIC President and sole Malaysian Indian Minister for close to three decades, he had fully absorbed the anger and frustration of the Malaysian Indians at the MIC failure to check the marginalization of the Malaysian Indians by accepting full personal responsibility. But he is still going to contest for MIC top post in the next year’s party election. He will be contesting for the presidential post for the 11th time.

He said in a press statement that if he wins the party presidential elections then, it will be his last term and he will retire from active politics in 2012. Samy joined the party in 1959 and became the Youth Chief in 1971 before becoming the vice-president in 1975. He took up the acting party president in 1979 after the death of Tan Sri V Manickavasagam. He then got elected to the top post in 1981, which he held on until today.

The very fact that Samy Vellu lost his seat in Sungai Siput was evidence that people rejected him totally; he should just accept the fact that he has overstayed in the politics. The message was further amplified when he never got a "Tun" from Yang Dipertuan Agong even Gerakan’s advisor got it. It’s another obvious signal that Samy Vellu’s highly praised contribution to the society was not recognised.

Samy vellu also involved in Maika scandal which 66,000 Maika shareholder’s RM120 million Telekom shares hijacked, where nine of ten million Telekom shares allocated to Maika were diverted to three private companies. So he better escape quietly before Malaysian Indian seriously start investigating and reveal all the scandals that he did.

Hope he leaves the post and let younger members to lead MIC professionally and efficiently. He will do it if he realy cares about Malaysian Indian!

The Never Ending Dilemmas

March 8 Tsunami caught PAS in a dilemma between defending Malay rights and keeping the support of non-Malays who had backed and strengthened the party. They are unable to resolve this dilemma, being trapped by their rival, UMNO. PAS returned to its old habits frequently showing an intolerance that is not in keeping with its preferred image now as a tolerant, moderate Islamic party that campaign general values in a multi-ethnic party.

Let me tell you about few incidents that indicate the intolerance of PAS and PKR upholding the equal rights in multi-ethnic Malaysia. In Kedah PAS wants 50% of house ownership reserved for bumiputras and in Selangor it is against a Chinese heading the state development corporation PKNS. What’s wrong? I’m not challenging Malay special rights, just arguing that why don’t we build competent Malaysia with power-sharing concept. The PKR is also in a similar dilemma having to carry an MP like Zulkifli Noordin whose ideology is far from the PKR ideology to create equality to all Malaysia without fear and favour, he involved in an incident when he led a protest against the Bar Council forum on “Conversion to Islam” in August, where he was accused of barging into the forum and making an inciteful speech.

Voices calling for relief for poor communities are needed, to push us out of our obsession with our monotonous, jingoistic "Social Contract" national narrative. We need to look at all Malaysians generally, even bumiputeras have failed to achieve the target for 30% equity despite nearly 40 years of NEP only proves that achieving equity through regulation will not achieve the objective increasing the wealth of bumiputeras in the shortest possible time. In fact, the 19% wealth ownership target, if accurate, has remained death since the 1990s. Why don’t we structure new “Policy’ to save all Malaysian? If Muslim compromise with non-Muslims is it clash with Islamic principles?

Clearly I can say that there are some party politics are caught between satisfying non-Muslim desire for equality and an end to discrimination and defending its Malay Muslim ground where there is fear that giving way social equality is a huge loss to Malay society. Lets we (Malay, Chinese, Indian, Sabahan and Sarawakian) strive together despite the differences of race and religion to form a harmony, developed, and competent nation upon Vision 2020.

Ban PKR for Zulkifli Nordin, Ban UMNO for Ahmad Ismail, Ban HINDRAF for what?????

ZULKIFLI NORDIN

Zulkifli Nordin, a PKR MP for Bandar Baru Kulim had been involved in an earlier debacle when he led a protest against the Bar Council forum on “Conversion to Islam” in August, where he was accused of barging into the forum and making an inciteful speech. Yesterday, he accused the Bar Council of supporting apostasy in parliament. I would like to ask a question to all Malaysian. If Muslim compromise with non-Muslims, is it clash with Islamic principles? Can we work together as Malaysian despite religion and believes?

I think it shouldn't be a matter after such a long we have experienced and live together in multi-religion society. Everyone is respecting Islam in Malaysia, so far I haven't heard any cases that non-muslim has insulted Islam as our nation's official religion. It is a common agreement that Islam is the official religion as stated in the Federal Constitution. There is no doubt about this, and of course no one can question it.

AHMAD ISMAIL ARGUING WITH REPORTERS

Ahmad Ismail is known for controversial actions and remarks made in the fields of politics, business and sports, including the latest controversy in which he utters incendiary remarks about the Chinese community during and after the Permatang Pauh by-election in August 2008. Despite criticism of his remark in the by-election and expressing regret that it resulted in controversy, Ahmad remained defiant and refused to apologise om his "Chinese as squatters" remark. In a further outburst during a press conference on September 8, Ahmad seditiously warned the Chinese community not to seek political power, below is Ahmad statement:

"The patience of the Malays and Muslims has a limit. Do not push us to the wall, as when we turn back we will be forced to push the Chinese in the interests of our own survival [...] The Chinese should not try to be like the Jews in America. It is not enough they control the economy, now they want political control."

Recently, HINDRAF was banned by home Minister, Home Minister Datuk Syed Hamid Albar. I don't know what is the actual reason on why HINDRAF banned. Is it because they have visited the Hari Raya open house? For struggling Malaysian Indians betterment? Banned for promoting Hindu or Indians rights? Why this kind of discrimination against Malaysian Indian?

We able to do nothing since the home minister already decide, but please address the Malaysian Indians problem. Banning HINDRAF won't solve the 51 years marginalization of Malaysian Indian. We left behind in every sector including education, economy, and others. We only owned around 1.5% of equity whereas our population more than 5 %. Our Tamil school's condition equals to old kampung houses. Our temples still receiving dangers from government. 50 000 thousand of Malaysian Indian without proper birth certificate and Identity card. I can list out hundreds of problem that we are facing today.

We deserve to get all the helps from government as other races in Malaysia. We are not third class citizen. Give us equal rights!

You May Stop HINDRAF, But Not Our Struggle!

25 NOVEMBER 2007 (HINDRAF MASS RALLY)

Why????? Why there is no room for democracy in Malaysia? We struggled for our rights; we are not terrorists as you have classified us so far. We, Malaysian Indian have fundamental rights too to defend our temples, schools, cultures, language and so on. Rather than banning HINDRAF, our problems should be addressed and proper action must be taken. Banning is not the only solution; you can ban our HINDRAF, but not our struggle to Malaysian Indian betterment. The fires of 25 Nov 2007 still burning with flames in every Malaysian Indians heart. Even our beloved Prime Minister will cry if he sit with us sincerely listen to our problem.

STOP SUCH INTIMIDATION ON MALAYSIAN INDIAN

It is about the wish to be treated equally and to be given a fair share of opportunities in the civil, business and education sectors as well as the need to respect our places of worship in terms of indiscriminate demolitions. We did not ask for Prime Minister Post, we did not even touch “Malays special rights”, but we demand for our rights. Why you can’t fulfill this simple demand? Is that we are making baseless demand that until you need to suffer the lost of your 2/3 parliamentary majority and five states in the general election? You may have won comfortably if you deal with our problems professionally and efficiently.

Yes, we were brought to Malaysia by colonial British as normal estate labours, but we have contributed and currently still contributing to Malaysia in every sector until today. From rubber estates, oil palm estates to the construction works we shed our tear and blood. We have a great numbers of Malaysian Indian that making Malaysia to proud of them- communication tycoon Anandakrishnan, former “Asia Sprint King” Dr M Jegathesan, Air Asia owner Tony Fernandes, Mount Everest climber Mahendran, and Mohandas, 1998 Commonwealth gold medalist S.Saravanan and I have a long list here. They are “Anak Bangsa Malaysia”; the patriotism in between their heart inspired them to create history for beloved Malaysia definitely.

We contributed in every sector including economy, sports and education along with other races in Malaysia. Why we are not recognised as a rightful citizen? Aren’t we Malay, Chinese, and Indian are under umbrella of Malaysia flag? Is it too hard to treat us equally? There are a lot of organisations which race based and struggling for their race betterments. We as well have HINDRAF to hope on; you banned HINDRAF without dealing our problems. You detained our our heroes in ISA. If you are the true leaders you should brave to meet our heroes face to face and lay out the problems decently with integrity.

The raise of HINDRAF is because of the failure of MIC to care for Malaysian Indian. We need a safe place for our children, grand children, great grand children….. Again, I would like state that you may stop HINDRAF, but not our struggle! We will struggle to the end till our demand fulfilled!

No More Racial Sentiments!

Compare us with Brunei, which gained independence 27 years after us. The Bruneian Proclamation declares Brunei "a sovereign, democratic and independent Malay Muslim monarchy". Our Proclamation, on the other hand, announces that we "shall be for ever a sovereign democratic and independent State founded upon the principles of liberty and justice and ever seeking the welfare and happiness of its people".

Our founding fathers were not too worried about things involving race. They did not declared officially as a Malay state or a Muslim state; they did not need to call for Malay unity or Muslim unity. But they did call for the all Malayan unity. Even if they did believe that in the short term, some authoritarianism was necessary to clamp down on ethnic tension, they knew that in the long run, all that matters is that the people of Malaysia are happy, that they have liberty and justice.

So what were some political parties talking about when they met over "Malay unity"? Was it about how to improve the lot of the Malays by lording it over other Malaysians with some ideology of ketuanan? Or they just purposely ignoring the non-Muslim which are almost 35% of the Malaysian citizen? We are facing a lot of crisis nowadays, including the hike of inflation rate, leadership crisis, worrying sports performance, drop of the Malaysian Universities in the world rankings and I have a long list of the problems. So, hope all Malaysian focus on those problems instead of racial issues.

Malays should believe multiracial liberalism concept, then only we able to form strong and competent Malaysian. After 51 years of national independence we are still talking about unity among Malays, among Chinese, among Indians and among other races. These should be the issues of the past and now as Malaysian we should get on the progress and developments upon Vision 2020.

No more racial sentiments!

From 36th to 47th

A lot of promises made by federal government lead by Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to reduce the corruption rate. But whats happening now? Malaysia slips further in corruption rankings since 2001. We have dropped 11 ranks from 36th to 47th in the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI), its clearly shows that there has been no improvement in the perception of corruption. Until today, there are still many promises made by authorities to stamp out graft and bribery. Malaysian citizens are sincerely hoping that there will be a better future for their children and the situations change very soon. Proper action must be taken immediately to stop this "disease"!

Use ISA Against Communist, Not Opposition Leaders, Bloggers and Journalists!

Dato Zaid quits over the use of Internal Security Act (ISA) on the blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin, Seputeh MP Teresa Kok and Sin Chew Daily reporter Tan Hoon Cheng on Friday. He stated that the ISA should only be used against those who truly posed a threat to national security, such as terrorists. Zaid also announced that a Judicial Appointments Commission would be appointed to nominate, appoint and promote judges, a body which the Malaysian Bar advocated for more than two decades. Hope the quits of Dato Zaid awakened federal government to respect the human rights and take action to abolish the ISA. Laws such as the Internal Security Act have no place in modern Malaysia. It is a draconian and barbaric law.
