In conjunction with 51st national day, I’m going to follow canoeing expedition (Kayak Kemerdekaan), it is the annual event of my college to celebrate national day. Today we are going to Pontian, Johor and stay there for one night. And then tomorrow morning we will start pedaling through Melaka Straits (Selat Melaka) to Tebrau Strait (Selat Tebrau) which is located in between Johor and Singapore. In this three days event, the journey starts from Pontian, Johor and end up in Danga Bay, Johor Bahru. We will experience quite a long distance of canoeing, this time expedition almost 150KM, which I saw on the paper. It’s going to be a tiring expedition. Well, I feel satisfy because able to do something on my part to my beloved nation in this memorable 51st Malaysia’s birthday.

Arif Shah vs Anwar Ibrahim

Arif Shah, the assemblyperson of Seberang Jaya is now new hope for BN to face the opposition icon, Anwar Ibrahim. Former candidate Firdaus denied another opportunity after 2 times competed against Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Ismail but failed. Ezam who promised that would give his best to war against Anwar also not given the challenge.

Now the question is Arif as BN candidate able to destroy Anwar’s dream to step into the parliament after a decade of his absence? Is he qualified enough to face the opposition stalwart? Tun Dr Mahathir even stated that no one can beat Anwar. Anyway I'm taking this opportunity to wish good luck for the candidates that contesting in the by-election. Hope it never turned to a "buy-election" by our "clean" politicians!

Another Debate: 20 August

FORMER AND CURRENT CM

Its confirm, the open debate between acting Gerakan president Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon and Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng. Another debate organised by news portal Agenda Daily. It will be held on Aug 20 in Shah Alam. I’m not sure about the venue of the debate.

They had their first discourse 20 years ago at the Penang Town Hall when both were Youth leaders of Gerakan and DAP respectively. This will be the second meeting between Koh and Lim in a debate. Both sides have agreed on the debate location, debate language and to talk about Penang state related issues. This debate based on the US presidential debate format and be moderated by Datuk Johan Jaafar.

The news portal had earlier set up a debate between Information Minister Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek and Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on the fuel price hike and its socio-economic implications. The debate, also moderated by Datuk Johan Jaafar, was held last month at Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka here and was aired by several TV stations. Hope the TV stations will come forward again to air this debate to fulfill millions of Malaysian’s wish to watch it life.

MERDEKA! MERDEKA! MERDEKA!

"FLY THE FLAG" campaign! With only around three weeks to celebrate our 51st national day, I would like to urge all my bloggers friends to display our national flag in their blog. This campaign is to show that we love our nation very much thus we have rights to voice our problem and dissatisfaction on it. By fly the flag upside down, it won’t change our current situation. Show your patriotism by supporting “FLY THE FLAG” campaign!
