Few More!

RAJA PETRA KAMARUDDIN

I applaud the release of Selangor EXCO Teresa Kok and Sin Chew reporter Tan from the detention under the obnoxious ISA. We had strong objection against her arrest under the ISA since last Friday, 12 September 2008, because she was unfairly subjected to this detention order that she did not deserve in the first place. There are more than 60 innocent detainees in the ISA, but for now Raja Petra and HINDRAF 5 (P.Uthayakumar, V.Ganabathirao, S.Vasanthakumar, R.Kenghadran and M.Manoharan) seek released immediately.

Recently, Tan and Teresa have been released thus we can say, “Few More!” Indeed, the last remaining detainee under the recent ISA detention exercise, Raja Petra Kamaruddin, must also be released immediately. After all he has already been charged for defamation and sedition. Hope our beloved leaders make a good decision ; open their mind to receive the facts and critics over them. They must put efforts to correct the mistakes and damages that have done so far, put someone behind the bar will not solve all the scandals and problems.

Suddenly, Everyone Starts Blogging!

TUN DR MAHATHIR'S "CHEDET"

Malaysia's political leaders are rushing to set up blogs and increase their postings on existing ones after recent polls showed how effective the Internet has been. The move signals a dramatic turnaround because until recently, senior political leaders dismissed bloggers as rumour-mongers and even described some as 'stupid' and 'monkeys'. The authorities have also detained some bloggers for allegedly libelous or seditious postings.

Former Selangor MB Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo started his blog towards last March, another colleague of his started one. This is the Malacca Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam. The two must have gotten over their fear of being described liars, and monkeys. It's early days yet, but Dr Khir's blog appears to have received tremendous response since he started. He said that it's impossible to respond to every query but he read every single comment that has submitted by the readers. For sure, don't forget Tun Dr Mahathir's Chedet, and Datuk Seri Najib's new website that had been launched just few days ago.

The bloggers joined several Opposition bloggers who have been writing much earlier. They include Jeff Ooi, Tony Pua, Anwar Ibrahim and Lim Kit Siang. The opposition party leaders have much more experience in blogging field. The blog turned to an important source of information in our nation even before March 8 political Tsunami.

MPs and ADUNs would be in a better position to try and convince voters to vote for them through blog. These people did not blog just for the fun of it but they blog because they want to engage their voters, and blogging give the voters direct access to their "wakil rakyat".

US Crisis: Direct Impact On Malaysia?

Economic analysts feel Malaysia was unlikely to be impacted in a big way by the collapse of two venerable Wall Street financial institutions, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch, local media reported yesterday. Both firms were victims of the sub-prime crisis in the United States.

"I can't see it having a direct impact on Malaysia. Any impact is likely to be indirect," said Wong Ming Tek, head of research at HwangDBS Vickers Research. Banks in Malaysia had in the last few months said they didn't have any major sub-prime exposure, and as such, Malaysia is likely to be spared the direct fallout from the collapse of the two financial institutions.

News of their collapse will, however, affect investor sentiment. On Monday, it sent stock markets in Europe and Asia reeling. "This will inevitably affect our stock market valuations," said Clement Chew, head of equities broking at JP Morgan in Malaysia.

Lehman, which Monday filed for bankruptcy protection in the US, does not have a presence in Malaysia.

http://www.1malaysia.com.my/

Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak has launched a brand new new website, http://www.1malaysia.com.my, with lots of videos, picture galleries, comment page and etc.

He asked for "rational dialogue to discuss the things that matter deeply to us as a nation... While I may not always agree with you, be assured that your views will be heard,” and also added that "What makes Malaysia unique is the diversity of our people ... and I want to preserve this diversity and unity." The website was intended as a portal through which members of the public could directly engage in open and honest dialogue directly with him as the Deputy Prime Minister.

This is the suitable time for Malaysian to say something directly to DPM as nation’s political situation in huge crisis. So what do you think? Well, you must comment something on what you have in your mind. His website has a comment page for you to fill in all your "rational dialogues". You may have signed the petition for Teresa Kok, Raja Petra, the Hindraf 5 and all the other ISA detainees.

Now, go to our honourable deputy prime minister's website comment page and release everything that you feel on him and tell about your dissatisfaction or opinion on nation's politic arena.

Happy Malaysia Day!

1609 - MALAYSIA DAY

Anwar Ibrahim told thousands last night in kelana Jaya Stadium that he would be meeting Prime Minister Abdullah haji Ahmad badawi later to discuss the change of government. So, he is confident that the defection happens, he also stated that he have enough MPs to take over current federal government from BN administration. Today, Sept 16 also significant to the formation of Malaysia. The history tell us that how important is the date.

Malaysia Day is held on September 16 every year to commemorate the establishment of Malaysian federation on the same date in 1963. It marked the joining together of Malaya, North Borneo, Sarawak, and Singapore to form Malaysia. The formation of the new federation was planned to occur on June 1, 1963 but was later postponed to August 31, 1963 in order to coincide with the sixth Hari Merdeka. Several issues related to the Indonesian and the Filipino objection to the formation of Malaysia delayed the declaration to September 16 of the same year. The postponement was also done to allow the United Nations team time to conduct referendums in North Borneo (now Sabah) and Sarawak regarding the two states participation in a new federation. September 16 is also Lee Kuan Yew's birthday. Lee Kuan Yew was the prime minister of Malaysian Singapore.

The formation of Malaysia was made possible through the introduction of the Malaysia Bill to the Malayan Parliament on July 9, 1963 and consent from the Yang di-Pertuan Agong on August 29, 1963. Prior to the formation of Malaysia, Singapore and North Borneo unilaterally declared independence from the United Kingdom on August 31 1963, thus coinciding with the sixth anniversary of the Malayan independence. Malaysia Day is not a public holiday. However, it is coincidental with Birthday of Yang di-Pertua of Sabah, making the day a public holiday in Sabah.

Hope Sept 16 will be recognised as Malaysia's national public holiday to remember the formation of Malaysia which is more meaningful to the Sabahan and Sarawakian compare to Aug 31.

Use ISA Against Communist, Not Opposition Leaders, Bloggers and Journalists!

Dato Zaid quits over the use of Internal Security Act (ISA) on the blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin, Seputeh MP Teresa Kok and Sin Chew Daily reporter Tan Hoon Cheng on Friday. He stated that the ISA should only be used against those who truly posed a threat to national security, such as terrorists. Zaid also announced that a Judicial Appointments Commission would be appointed to nominate, appoint and promote judges, a body which the Malaysian Bar advocated for more than two decades. Hope the quits of Dato Zaid awakened federal government to respect the human rights and take action to abolish the ISA. Laws such as the Internal Security Act have no place in modern Malaysia. It is a draconian and barbaric law.

Honour Him With National Jersey!

JAMES TITUS PALANI

Titus James Palani is a footballer origin from Brickfield, Kuala Lumpur. He currently is a midfielder for FC Villenoy in France. In early 1999, his name has been a hot topic for fans in Malaysia when he was chosen by the Union Sportis Quevilliase selection (USQ), which is in collaboration with Le Havre AC's football academy. In May 2000, there was good news for Tito and his family, the Le Havre AC coaching panel was attracted by her performance.

He left Malaysia in order to satisfy his ambition to be a successful footballer. In France, lives in Rouen, Francis Herbert, the finder of talent that has been responsible for its management and the club and his wife, Slyvaine Wairin, which became the family of Tito adopted in France. Two years later, Tito moved with his mother adopted Slyvaine Wairin in Meaux, about 20 km from Paris, and joined Villenoy FC. Tito started with Villenoy FC Under-18 team before graduating in the senior side in 2007. He is the captain of the team and the club is currently third of the 15-team league.

The attacker was also playing as the midfielder become team's top scorer with 16 goals with the Under-18 side Villenoy four seasons ago. He helped the team finish fifth in the 12 team league in Paris. Villenoy were also FA Cup runners-up to Vaire. Since May 2007, he has tried to get a place in Ligue 1, where the selections are kept open. After 7 years playing football in France, his goal is to play in Ligue 1. It 'been asked his coach and Villenoy FC to convince the Ligue 1 club of his talent. His main desire is to play for Paris St Germain (PSG).

Titus James has been called to attend centralized training with the national Under-23 soccer team Korat SEA Games in December 2007. National soccer coach B. Sathianathan said to Tito of his plans to include 20 years in the Games team and, if all goes well, the player will be at home in June 2007 for training camp. He said Tito is ready to answer the call-up, but must first know its engagement with the French Third Division club Villenoy FC in Meaux. Sadly Tito failed to impress Sathia and his name left out from the Korat squad. Former national coach Bertalan Bicskei had also called for Tito evidence for the SEA Games in Manila in 2005, but then was only 18 and was eliminated. In July 2008 again Malaysian press managed to pressure Malaysia national coach, B. Sathianathan to call Titus back to play for exhibition match against Chelsea. But sadly he did not make it again.

Now at the age of 22, I believe Titus James ready to carry national flag and put Malaysia soccer in the place it should be. Give him another chance to prove that he able to make it!

Namewee Back to Malaysia

The below controversial video by Namewee may tell about him further-

Remember Namewee (Wee Meng Chee)? Wee's sudden rise to stardom is the result of his highly publicized piece. Negarakuku translated as "I Love My Country Negarakuku (Visit Malaysia 2007 Theme Song)". The structure of the song consists of two major components: the rapping, which is exclusively composed and performed by Wee, and Malaysia's anthem, Negaraku, which is split into three segments between the rapping and sung out in groups of two or three verses. The video still available in YouTube.

A music video for the song was uploaded to YouTube by Wee on July 15, 2007, featuring a montage of photographs of Malaysia, a Visit Malaysia 2007 video and a video of Wee rapping against the backdrop of a Malaysian flag. The video ends depicting both a Chinese caption thanking unnamed parties for videos and images provided for the montage, and an English/Malay caption asking not to be sued as he has no money ("please don't sue me, saya takde duit"). The video was removed by Wee amid pressure on July 23, 2007, but copies of the video, including one with English and Malay subtitles of the song's Chinese lyrics, are still available on the site. The videos received an average of over 100,000 hits; a duplicate version of Wee's original video, uploaded in the middle of July 2007, received a total of 1.4 million hits as of early September 2007.
