Malaysia’s Hollow Democracy (Part One)

Glad to hear that Perakians are fighting hard for their democracy rights. They want new state government which voted from themselves and not through defections. It shows Perakians really understand what democracy means to them. Sincerely, I’m proud to be Anak Perak!

Born in Hospital Besar Ipoh, rose up in small town called Tapah, I can sense what an ordinary Perak citizen feel when their rights of vote are being taken away by Sultan and BN government. People of Perak previously given mandate to Pakatan Rakyat to lead the state in March 8 general election, but Sultan of Perak turned the mandate to Barisan Nasional to rule although the both opposition and government has the same amount of seats in the State assembly.

Rests of them are declared as independent candidate since defected from PR and throwing their support towards BN. The defected 2 of 3 reps already resigned their position as ADUN in an undated letter. So its clear that they are not a valid ADUN to support BN, fresh elections needed in the two contituencies, but Election Comission (EC) denied it.

Perak is having an unstable government, whether if its rule by BN or PR. Sultan of Perak should have made a wise decision, should dissolved the state assembly earlier. Tuanku forgotten that our system is ‘Raja berperlembagaan’ or constitutional monarchy, not ‘Raja Berkuasa Mutlak’ or absolute monarchy. Even Tuanku must know the law and constitution; should not misuse power which will effect Baginda’s position as head of state or nation.

Finally, I would like to share a video and several pictures with you on how the police ordered by BN government to handle the Perakians. The police fired tear gas against the demonstrators who seeking for democracy rights through election, Malaysian leader always commenting on thr political progressions in other nations, but what about Malaysia? Don’t they feel shame of what’s happening in Perak currently?

Watch this video:

bro u r very correct ....this is unfair to all of the supporter’s who has the majority vote in Perak ..which can be give example like 8` th general election was win by the options party ..the sultan should ask the three PR people to resign from the post and reelection..`rakyat` must choose the leaders ..then it will show democratic country ...Barisan Nation government can use the power for this time ..let look at the next election …this is one of the sign for BN government to put their image down and make more anger votes from Perakians.

A reasonable and just monarch will consent to the dissolution of the House/Assembly to give the power back to the people. I was utterly shocked and disappointed with his majesty's decision

What the Pakatan is doing isn't wrong because they are just demanding for an election which majority Malaysians think it's the best solution, that's the true democracy.

Somehow over so many years they don't seems to understand the true meaning of democracy. But for me, it's okay... I supposed Malaysians will denied BN even a simple majority in the next GE.. Thanks to them for what they did, so that Malaysians can make a clear cut during next GE.

The people seem to understand democracy..certain politicians don't (you know who la).

So the next election that comes by, make sure they voted OUT.

Tell those morons that the final say lies with HRH Sultan of Perak on the appointment and dismissal of a mentri besar.

And if it was questioned the legality and validity from the constitutional point of view, have we not remember that Sultan Azlan had held the highest legal office of the country...

Legal opinion should be forwarded to Dr Rais Yatim, a doctorate in constitutional law and NOT Razaleigh Hamzah, who is not a lawyer and a politician.

My advice to Kuli, if you cannot or do not help Perak BN to return the state, please do not hamper with your shallow interpertation of the law.

i absolutely agree with u mike
according to Abraham Linchon...
'citizen is the government...
and the citizen has the 100% power to form their own government..'
the ruler should give a high priority for the people's voice and strictly follow the laws which was accepted by all .....

...This is a democratic country
as well as Tuanku must be act according to
'Raja Berperlembagaan' not
'Raja Berkuasa Mutlak'
Tuanku must not appoint new MB as well as the previous MB did resign
according to the protocol..
Tuanku should dissolve state asembly and head to reelection..
Baginda must be neutral and work out for the people's justice not pro to one party(BN) only.....

BN must understand that Malaysians are not a morons.....we all woked up ready and know the laws and constitutions of the country....
....BN cannot fool the Malaysians anymore and will flop on next general elections forever..
