Why 88% Disagree With Sultan?

SULTAN OF PERAK, SULTAN AZLAN SHAH

A survey conducted by Malaysiakini saw an overwhelming majority of readers disagreeing with Sultan Azlan Shah's decision in the transfer of power in the silver state. Let me tell you the true story, actually there were very high expectations that the Sultan would uphold a decision for democracy and morality, rather than pure legality, so the people feel cheated by the sultan’s decision when Tuanku refused to dissolve Perak state assembly.

Thousand of them protested against the new government by Sultan. Protests and huge outcry over what many have called an undemocratic ousting of a legitimate state government, it would be safe to assume that a majority of Malaysians are unhappy over what has been going on in Perak. I have written about this before in my blog, read Malaysia’s Hollow Democracy.

A total of 34,617 out of 39,411 readers, or 87.8 percent said they were against the sultan's decision, however, 3,862 (9.8 percent) survey respondents said they agreed with the sultan's decision while 932 readers (2.4 percent) answered "Don't know" in the four-day survey which ended yesterday.

Make sure you send this poll result to HRH. Better still conduct a poll to Perakians only and see the response. I think you will get similar results.

Then perhaps HRH will come down from his ivory tower and understand what the PEOPLE demand of him!!

It is the PEOPLE who empower the Rulers and Parliament and they have a right to demand justice and fresh elections in Perak. Anything short of this is a sellout!!
