973 tear gas canister costing RM89, 000 to 'kill' the democracy

Home Minister Dato Hishamuddin revealed that a total of 973 tear gas canister costing RM89, 000 used to disperse the anti-ISA rally in July. I wonder why heavy force used to disperse the demonstrators. In fact it was conducted in peaceful manner. The government shouldn't use tear gas canisters and heavy force to chase away the crowd, demonstrators deserve to be given space to exercise their democratic rights in street.

He also said that 663 policemen were deployed during the demonstrations while 442 were on standby at various locations around Kuala Lumpur. 182 Federal Reserve Unit members were also tasked with dispersing the demonstrators, while 22 traffic police officers and members were assigned to control the traffic flow at the locations identified. The big sum of money could have been spent to help the poor. What taxpayers have to say about this? The government refuse to learn from the rally, they did not get the voice of the people. They yet to amend, repeal or at least review the Internal Security Act (ISA) until today.
